IBLA Grand Prize
Instrumentalists Music Competition & Master Classes

For all instrumentalists (soloists and/or ensemble)
Free program / no age limit

Eligibility:
  1. The competition is open to musicians (string, woodwind, piano, organ, harpsichord) from all over the world and is divided into the following sections: Adult, Young, Solo, Duo, Ensemble.

  2. The Adult Section is without age limit.

  3. The Young Section is further divided into:

    Level Age  
    Adult 24 and over  
    A 7-10  
    B 11-14  
    C 15-18  
    D 19-23


  4. Competitors may enroll in a higher age category than they belong.
Repertory Requirements:
  1. Adult Solo/Duo/Ensemble Level: free program of approximately 30 minutes.

  2. Young Levels (solo-duo-ensemble): program with an approximate duration of

    10 minutes for category A,
    15 minutes for category B,
    20 minutes for category C
    25 minutes for category D

  3. Note: repertoire choices are very flexible but all programs are subject to the approval of the IBLA Foundation.
Rules:
  1. Competitors, except for those in the Duo and Ensemble Sections, must perform from memory.
  2. One copy of each score must be provided for the Jury.
  3. The decisions of the Jury are final.
  4. Competitors waive all rights of remuneration for the broadcasting, televising or recording of their performance.
  5. The President, the Artistic directors and the Jury reserve the right to terminate any performance at any time and to withhold any award in any category
  6. For any matter in dispute the decision of the IBLA Foundation Board of Directors shall be final.
  7. Participation in the competition assumes the unconditional acceptance of the present rules without reservation.
Travel:
Catania airport is the closest airport to Ragusa-Ibla, Italy. You may find direct flights from Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Paris, London, etc. You may be offered the opportunity to perform in open stage evening concerts in Ragusa as well as in other cities associated with the IBLA Festival. The competition will provide the necessary transportation to these locations. However, you are not required to attend throughout the competition; you may leave after your scheduled performances, should you have other commitments.
