BELLINI VOCAL COMPETITION WINNER

ADRIENN MIKS, Soprano HUNGARY

The Hungarian dramatic soprano Adrienn Miks is the Top Prize recipient of the 2007 IBLA GRAND PRIZE International Bellini Vocal Competition (16th edition) organized by the IBLA Foundation, New York City.

As an IBLA Top Winner she will soon be granted the Tokyo Debut as well as the New York Carnegie Debut.

Previously,as the winner of the International Monteverdi L’Orfeo Singing Competition 2007’, she debuted in the gala performance held in Mantua, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the premiere of Monteverdi's Orfeo. She was published the absolute first prize winner and the “Voice of the Renata Tebaldi of the year” on the “6. Concorso Renata Tebaldi” International Singing Competition 2006’. The Hungarian Section of the International Richard Wagner Society awarded her for Bayreuth Scholarship 2005’ as a reward of her victory in the competition. She was also honored with Artisjus Prize for presenting Hungarian Contemporary Musical pieces.

She has sung internationally appearing in Baden-bei Wien, Hannover, Milano, Verona, Mantova, Ragusa, Napoli-Angri, Nocera. In Hungary, she has performed many times in the most famous opera houses and concert halls like Hungarian State Opera House, Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Palace of Arts and the opera houses in Miskolc and Debrecen. She often has Independent Performing Evening in the Marble Hall of the Hungarian Radio livingly broadcasted.

She has appeared with world famous singers such as Jevgenij Nesterenko, Peter Lika, Sharon Rostorf, Judit Német, Bernadette Wiedemann and Éva Marton.

Adrienn studied in the Liszt Ferenc University of Music, Faculty of Soloist. Her teachers were Prof. Erika Sziklay and repetiteur Prof. Emese Virág. She was upgraded in the Studio of Hungarian State Opera House guided by Maestro Géza Oberfrank.

She participated in masterclasses with Jevgenij Nesterenko, Éva Marton, Nadesdia Kniplowa and Júlia Hamari.

Born in Baja, Adrienn Miks currently lives in Budapest while continuing to concertize in the U.S.A., Japan, Italy and Hungary.
